DoDEA Operations in a "Government Shutdown"

In the event of a lapse in appropriations after September 30, 2023 leading to a “government shutdown”, DoDEA schools will remain open for normal operations, except for sports (including practices) and extracurricular activities which will pause during a shutdown.

Goal 1 (Literacy)

Zukeran Elementary School will improve student literacy skills across all content areas as measured by DoDEA comprehensive assessments.

Goal 2 (Math)

Zukeran Elementary School students will improve their understanding of mathematical concepts and be able to apply those concepts to solve problems.

Welcome to Zukeran ES!

On 29 August 2018, Zukeran Elementary opened its 21st Century facility. It is a two-story facility with an expansive Commons area used for lunch and other large group gatherings, six grade-level instructional neighborhoods, separate art and music rooms, a gymnasium with a wood floor, and a dual purpose stage which opens to the Commons and a performance room. Along with its unique architectural features, the school is equipped with the technological features necessary to facilitate 21st Century teaching and learning.

We belong to the DoDEA Pacific South District which is part of the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA). DoDEA is a Department of Defense field activity operating under the direction, authority, and control of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness.
