DoDEA Pacific Region, in partnership with the League for Soroban (Abacus) Education of Japan, Okinawa, held a Soroban Education Workshop Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Tsukazan Community Center and Museum.

Nominations for the Educator of Promise Award will be accepted until March 28, 2025.

DoDEA joins the National Association for Music Education and schools across the nation in celebrating Music in Our Schools Month (MIOSM) in March. The purpose of recognizing MIOSM in DoDEA is to highlight and advocate for music programs in our schools.

DoDEA joins the National Education Association and schools across the nation in celebrating Read Across America on March 2nd and all year long to help motivate kids to read, bring the joys of reading to students of all ages, and make all children feel valued and welcome.

Eleven teams from DoDEA high schools across the region, as well as an international school, competed in the second in-person Far East esports.

Jennifer Rauchet Hegseth, spouse of the Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, was joined by Angela Abernathy, spouse of Command Sgt. Maj. Robert Abernathy, U.S. European Command senior enlisted leader, and Amy Fulford, spouse of Lt. Gen. Robert Fulford, deputy commander of U.S. European Command on a tour of three DoDEA schools in Europe: Patch Elementary, Brussels Unit School, and SHAPE Elementary. They were accompanied by DoDEA Director Dr. Beth Schiavino-Narvaez and DoDEA Europe Director for Student Excellence Dr. Michelle Howard-Brahaney.
